Murray beats Federer in Rogers Cup 2010 Final, wins Toronto Masters
Andy Murray not only stunned Roger Federer, but also Nadal and their fans to win ATP Toronto Masters title. Britain's Murray is now the second player after Agassi to win back to back Toronto Masters titles. He achieved this feat after beating Nadal in the semi final and Federer in the final.
"It's so tough closing out a match against Roger," Murray said. "It was incredibly difficult conditions for both of us."
You can never write off Roger Federer out of the game and same was the case here as Murray was unable to close out the set six games later as he served for it leading 5-3. Instead, he double-faulted on a break point to put the Swiss back in contention, 5-5.
"The rain did not help but going into the dressing room gave me time to think," Murray said. "It was really tough but I came through in the end."
There were couple of breaks due to rain and the match was started little late as well due to the same reason. It has to be said that that the conditions were difficult for both the players, however Murray overcomes all in style and emerged as a winner which pushes him up in the ATP Rankings to number 2 sport behind Rafael Nadal
