India take on Sri Lanka in 3rd ODI of Tri Series : SL vs Ind Preview
After a humiliating loss against New Zealand in the first ODI of the ongoing tri-series in Sri Lanka, India meets the host today at Rangiri Dambulla International Stadium. I guess too many things are going on for the Indian Time in this season just before the World Cup.
Dhoni was reportedly upset on the pitches provided to the team for practice and with it the team's representative wrote a letter to BCCI complaining against the hectic schedule of Team India. Along with these problems, Team India is also struggling with the fitness and injuries of the players and hectic schedule is reported as the primary reason behind all the problems.
These off the field problems gets reflected on the field as well where the Team India was just wrapped for 88 against the underdogs Kiwis. In the 3rd ODI, Yuvraj Singh has been already ruled out after being diagnosed with dengue fever. Virat Kohli takes his place and ready to cement his place which is also backed up by the recent ordinary performances of Yuvi.
Ashish Nehra would be leading the bowling attack where as Sehwag is expected to give team India the dream start which they have not seen in recent times. Sri Lanka has once again won the toss and elected to bat. Dhoni has now lost nine toss results in a row which should also be record somewhere in the books.
Teams :
Sri Lanka: Upul Tharanga, Tillakaratne Dilshan, Kumar Sangakkara(w/c), Mahela Jayawardene, Thilan Samaraweera, Chamara Kapugedera, Angelo Mathews, Nuwan Kulasekara, Suraj Randiv, Lasith Malinga, Dilhara Fernando
India: Dinesh Karthik, Virender Sehwag, Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, Suresh Raina, MS Dhoni(w/c), Ravindra Jadeja, Praveen Kumar, Ishant Sharma, Ashish Nehra, Pragyan Ojha
Prediction:
From the way I see it, nothing has taken place in the recent times which gives some boost to the Indian Team however things have gone worse for them where as on the other hand Sri Lanka has beaten New Zealand in their opening game and must be roaring to go.
Our vote goes for Sri Lanka here after analyzing all the pros and cons.
