Katy Perry Wedding in India, confirmed by pal Rihanna

Pop star Rihanna has confirmed attending best friend Katy Perry’s wedding to Russell Brand that takes place in India later this month.

“ I am going. It is in India,” Rihanna said referring to Katy’s wedding. “ I am excited about that ( visiting India). I have never been there before. I have only heard great things ( about the country).” Apart from Katy's wedding, Rihanna said she also planned to visit India with a troupe soon.

A couple of months ago, reports were rife that Rihanna would visit India along with a host of global artistes such as Akon, Enrique Iglesias and Nicole Scherzinger for lavish music concerts to be organised by Anil Ambani all across the country.


Coming back to Katy, Rihanna is quite enthused about her best friend’s wedding.

“ I am excited to see her getting married. I am excited to see her dress,” she said about Katy’s much- talked about wedding dress.

It’s believed that Katy has roped in Lebanese designer Reem Acra for her bridal gown. Acra has styled the wardrobe of A- listers such as Angelina Jolie and Catherine Zeta- Jones in the past.

Katy’s wedding attire, reports suggest, will be a mix of Forties Hollywood style and her signature, quirky fashion statement.

Her raven hair will be styled in soft curls.

Besides Rihanna, Katy’s guest list is expected to include biggies from Hollywood's film and music world such as Taylor Swift, Jonathan Ross, Morrissey, Noel Gallagher and David Walliams.

In fact, the ceremony is expected to have a Hollywood- meets- Bollywood theme.

“ It will be a mix of Hollywood glamour and Indian touches like henna tattoos, an Indian tiara and hair brooches. The marriage ceremony will be held at an ashram,” a source stated.

Earlier this year, Rihanna had disclosed that Katy was set to marry in India.

For the uninitiated, Katy and her comedian beau Russell got engaged in Jaipur on the New Year eve.

“ I have to come up with something cool because she ( Katy) is getting married in India so I am like, ‘ OK, now what do I do to match that?’” Rihanna earlier stated.

For those who came in late, reports suggest that Russell and Katy will tie the knot this month in Delhi, over weeklong festivities.

In fact, Katy and Russell even sent out wedding invitations to friends that said: “ Meet you in Delhi in October. Dates to follow… Please allow seven days for this event.”
