Katy Perry Russell Brand Wedding Plan in Rajasthan

Only 50 people have been invited to the five-day-long wedding celebrations of American pop sensation Katy Perry and her British comedian fiancé, Russell Brand, at the ultra- premium Aman- i- Khas resort bordering the Ranthambore National Park in Sawai Madhopur district, 170 km from Jaipur.

“ The couple has booked 10 luxury tents at Aman- i- Khas and some rooms at the nearby Vanyavilas, which is run by The Oberoi group and the Sher Bagh tented camp, a Relais and Chateaux- affiliated property owned by the Sujan Luxury Hotels,” said sources who have been following the topsecret wedding that has brought the international media to a town that otherwise gets busy only during the tourist season.

The wedding, to be conducted by a local priest according to Hindu rituals, will take place on Saturday. The groom will arrive in a buggy pulled by a white horse and he’ll be escorted by Rajasthani dancers and elephant and camel riders.

Local sources said the wedding will include five Hindu ceremonies, each of which will be followed by a lavish party. The couple has also made arrangements to take their guests, who reportedly include pop stars Lady Gaga and Rihanna, on a tiger safari.

“ They have booked 13 jeeps for the tiger safari in the Ranthambore National Park,” the sources said.

A spokesperson for Aman-i-Khas, which is part of Adrian Zeca’s Aman Resorts, said she had been instructed by the resort’s management not to divulge any information on the wedding.

The staff at the resort has reportedly been asked not to move out till the celebrations are over.

Every available room in Sawai Madhopur’s hotels and guesthouses have been taken over by the international media, and the villages of Sherpur and Khirchipur, which are closest to Aman- i- Khas, have been seeing a steady stream of journalists and photographers arriving to take up vantage positions as close as possible to the wedding venue.

Bits of news about the wedding preparations, meanwhile, are flying thick and fast. “ The guests will be served local delicacies, for which the ingredients have been sourced from Bajaria, a market town near Sawai Madhopur,” sources said.

A source at Rambagh Palace, Jaipur, set at rest speculation that a part of the wedding celebrations would take place at the Rambagh Palace, a Taj Group hotel in Jaipur, where the engagement ceremony had taken place on New Year’s eve last year. “ These are just rumours,” the source said. “ We don’t have any booking for the wedding and we don’t host wedding parties,” the source added.
