Champions League T20 : Highveld Lions defeated Mumbai Indians by 9 runs

The underdogs clinched the victory from the Mumbai Indians in a high thriller opening game of the Chamions League T20, just the perfect start of the tournament.

The match was poised on a knife edge from the word go as none of the teams held the upper hand. Tendulkar and Dhawan got Mumbai off to a great start, with the Master playing an absolute beauty of an innings. However, his dismissal by Shane Burger was the turning point of the match. Kieron Pollard changed the complexion of the match with some meaty blows towards the end and it looked like Mumbai would cruise to victory.

However, as soon as Burger scalped the prized wicket of Pollard, the Lions came back in the game and managed to hold their nerve towards the end with some tight bowling.
