West Indies vs Sri Lanka (wi vs sl) 1st Test Scorecard : Gayle hits explosive duble century
The unpredictable game of cricket again showed its colors today when under-dogs West Indian team treated the Sri Lankan bowlers with no respect and ex-skipper of West Indies went on to make the explosive 219 runs after facing 247 balls with 26 Fours and 8 sixes and importantly remained unbeaten till the end of play of Day 1 of First Test between Sri Lanka and West Indies at the Galle International Stadium.
Gayle came on to bat after West Indies won the toss and elected to bat and had a 110 runs partnership for the first wicket with Barath (50 Runs) before Randiv sent back the later to pavilion. Debutant Darren Bravo also went on to make 58 Runs with 6 fours while spending crucial time on the crease & played 159 deliveries.
Chris Gayle and Chanderpaul are on the crease at the moment, looking strong on 219 & 20 respectively. From Sri Lanka, Randiv and Mendis got the one wicket each. Chris Gayle after the play cleared his intentions that he wants to stay at the crease as long as he can to get the big score, however the point is if he stays like he did today, he will be highest run scorer in the test match beating Brian Lara and Matthew Hayden.
