National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS) online admission begins



National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS) from this year onwards has introduced online admission procedure to bring more convenience to the admissions procedure. With the intoduction of the new procedure, off-line admission quota has been dispensed.

Students can:
  • register themselves On-line directly
  • may visit their nearest Accredited Institution (AI) (study centre)/Facilitation Centre and take their help for On-line registration.
  • may visit their Regional Centre for on line-registration.

In order to facilitate admission, provision of on-line admission throughout the year 24x7 has been made. NIOS had a cumulative enrollment of about 1.5 million students from 2004-2009 at Secondary and Senior Secondary levels and enrolls about 350,000 students annually which makes it the largest open schooling system in the world.
