Liverpool gave away victory against Arsenal

Arsenal must have had their heart in the mouth in the highly entertaining opening weekend of the Premier League season, the game ended in a draw (1 - 1) where Liverpool was playing with the 10 men squad after referee Martin Atkinson showed no hesitation in producing a red card to Cole who dived recklessly in an attempt to tackle Koscielny in the added time of the first half. This scene ended the first half in the dramatic way.

After this episode of red card, experts gave in their comments and almost declared the Arsenal winner by the big margin just after the first half. However, it is not that easy as it looks to predict this game. There was a dramatic end to the first half and dramatic start to the second!

There was a shoddy defending on the edge of the box of Arsenal which allows Mascherano to play in Ngog and he rifled home a sweet strike and gave Liverpool a dream lead of 1 - 0 over the rivals.

Wenger desperation was clearly visible as he made the Double change in the 60th Minute where Rosicky and Walcott were replaced by Eboue and Wilshere. Liverpool first change was made in the 66th minute where Jovanovic on his Premier League debut made way for Maxi Rodriguez.

Arsenal's attacking play was visibly too slow today, allowed Liverpool to set up a couple of solid banks of four in the Gunners path.

Goalscorer Ngog replaced by Torres for Liverpool in 74th Minute where as Wenger brought in Robin van Persie for last 15 minutes on the place of Diaby.

After 90 minutes of high tension some relief came towards Arsenal fans when a deep cross from the left had Reina struggling with the sun in his eyes as Chamakh made a nuisance of himself. The ball bounced into the foot of the post and back to a relieved Reina, who then inexplicably fumbled the ball over the line to give Arsenal a bizarre equalizer.

The final whistle blows to end an astonishing game. Liverpool came so, so close to battling to a famous victory before an inexplicable error from Reina saw Arsenal escape with a point. Pandemonium in the last 10 minutes of the game, and it ends 1-1.
