Can Miss India Ushoshi Sengupta be Miss Universe 2010 Winner ?

Miss India Ushoshi Sengupta is all set to end the 10 year drought of India to bring home the Miss Universe Title, however the question is can she do it ? If you look out for an answer after the Miss Universe 2010 preliminaries, you may find the answer.

The truth is Ushoshi Sengupta is not among the favorites of the experts who are coming up with predictions as to who will win the crown this year.

As per the Miss Universe 2010 winner predictions from various polls and blogs, favorites to win this year are Miss Russia (Irina Antonenko), Miss Mexico (Jimena Navarrete), Miss Philippines (Venus Raj), Miss France (Malika Ménard) and Miss Colombia (Natalia Navarro).

Ushoshi Sengupta has not been talked about much on the international level, however one thing which can go her way is the 'Costume' which has received a lot of criticism from the fashion fraternity. Kolkata based designer duo Dev R Nil decided to deviate from the traditional lehenga choli and created a deep blue coloured dress with peacock wings. This can bring some attention on to her and who knows this becomes the turning point.

But all of this doesn't end our hopes as the main event is yet to come and as a nation we will stick to the saying 'Never say Never'.

59th edition of the pageant, Miss Universe 2010, will take place at the Mandalay Bay Events Center in the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino, Las Vegas, Nevada, U.S. on August 23, 2010.
