Cricketer Praveen Kumar Marriage took place yesterday

After India captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni, it was his teammate Praveen Kumar’s turn to tie the knot as the all- rounder married his childhood friend in Meerut on Thursday.

The ceremony was a low – key affair in Praveen’s home town where he married Sapna, a national level shooter and daughter of an ex–armyman. While, invitations were sent to all his teammates and Congress general secretary Rahul Gandhi, only Virat Kohli attended the wedding.


“The team (India) is busy in their encounter with New Zealand and it (the absence of the star players) was expected. Also Rahul ji is busy with his election rallies in Bihar”, Kumar’s elder brother, Vinay, said.

Interestingly, Praveen chose the same date – November 18 – on which he made his international debut in 2007 as his wedding date. The ceremony, attended by over a 1000 baratis , took place at the plush JP Resorts in Meerut and the media was kept at bay.
