Karnataka News : Yeddyurppa wins trust vote, Governor asks President's rule

The assembly witnessed chaotic and unruly scenes after the beleaguered BS Yeddyurappa government has survived a test of strength and survived the no confidence motion. Speaker KG Bopaiah had disqualified 11 dissident BJP MLAs and five independents MLAs hours before the crucial vote of confidence, bringing the numbers to favour the BJP.

The disqualification of the 16 MLAs led to pandemonium in the Assembly on Monday morning. The disqualified MLAs are up in arms and five of them forced their way into the Vidhana Soudha. As the MLAs violently protested against their disqualification, one even reportedly punching a Marshal, the police was forced to enter the House and struggled to control the lawmakers.

On the other hand, The Governor of Karnataka, H R Bharadwaj, has written to the President to impose President's rule in the state. It has been surfaced that HR Bhardwaj, advised the Speaker on Sunday against disqualifying the rebel legislators, however has now recommended President's Rule in the state. The case has now gone to the high court and the Chief Justice will hear the petitions of the disqualified MLAs.
