India vs Australia 1st Test Day 1 Summary & Scorecard
The good thing about today's game is the balance of the match as it was mixed day for the both the teams; however the bad thing for the Indian fans is the missed chances, courtesy of which Shane Watson scored a unbeaten century, his second test ton. He took his team to 224 for five at stumps, after 90 overs. The Indian bowling improved considerably in the final session, forcing the Australian batsmen to slow down.
Zaheer Khan came back in the attack later in the day, after Ishant Sharma suffered a knee injury, and he literally changed the course of the game as he caught Michael Hussey plumb in front of the wickets after which he clipped Marcus North's bails in his next over. The next batsman was given a chance as Dhoni drooped a catch of Tim Paine.
Shane Watson and Tim Paine are on the crease at the moment after scoring 101 & 1 respectively. Simon Katich scored 6, Ricky Ponting 71, Michael Clarke 14, Michael Hussey 17 and Marcus North scored a duck.
Zaheer Khan chipped 3 wickets where as Harbhajan Singh took 1 of Michael Clarke. Ricky Ponting was run out by the brilliant piece of work by Suresh Raina. Pragyan Ojha has not picked any wicket but bowled really well.
