ICC Test Rankings 2010 : India retains Top Spot, Australia dropped to 5th Place

India proved once again their top spot after beating Australia 2-0 in the test series at home. However, it has not gone too well for Australia as they have slipped to the 5th spot just below England for the first time since the rankings were introduced in 2003.

At the beginning of the Border-Gavaskar Test Series, India & Australia were on 127 & 113 respectively but now India has snatched three more points from Australia after winning the test series at home, taking them ahead 11 point of South Africa which is at second place.

Shane Warne could not control his emotions and expresses his views on Twitter after the loss of Australian Team. “How the hell can Hauritz bowl to this field,” wrote Warne. “Feeling for Hauritz, terrible!! What are these tactics? Sorry Ricky but what are you doing?”.

India looks to have formidable future as youngsters Murali Vijay & Pujara displayed superb batting in the morning session taking the game away from Australia. Sachin Tendulkar has been awarded with the Man of the Match trophy for his 6th double century in the first innings and for his unbeaten 53 in the second innings. He also won the Man of the series trophy for scoring the highest runs in the series (403 runs), a double ton and two fifties.
