Delhi gears up for Commonwealth Games (CWG) 2010 closing ceremony



Expectations would be of sky level after the tremendous display of art, fireworks and technology at the opening ceremony of 19th Commonwealth Games hosted by India. This is going to be houseful with over 60,000 spectators as tickets of all categories i.e. Rs.750, Rs.4000, Rs.20,000 & Rs.50,000 have been sold out 48 hours before the event.

Soulful Sufi music and classical tunes and traditional Bagpiper music of Scotland would begin the ceremony on high note followed by which 2,100 school children would perform on Vande Mataram fro around 50 minutes. Popular Songs like Chak De India to be rendered by Sukhwinder, Allah ke Bande by Kailash Kher and Ab Ke Sawan by Shubha Mudgal would also be performed at the event.

There would be an invitation by 400 artistes from Scotland on the tunes of traditional Bagpiper music to invite all to visit Glasgow for the 2014 Commonwealth Games. The show will kick off with about 800 artistes drawn from Kerala, Punjab, Manipur, Maharashtra, Gujarat and Tamil Nadu who will perform Indian martial arts. Dubbed as 'Agni', the martial art show is being conceived by the well-known choreographer Samudra.

Sri Lanka President Mahinda Rajapaksa will be the chief guest at the event. There will be heavy use of imported laser equipment from Europe to create special effects like sea waves and graphics where as fireworks would play their part like opening ceremony.
