CWG 2010 Tally : Somdev Devvarman bags 29th Gold for India

India might be struggling against Australia in the 2nd Test at Bengaluru in Cricket, but Somdev Devvarman had no such problems when he beat Australia's Greg Jones in straight sets (6-4, 6-2) to clinch tennis singles gold medal in the 19th Commonwealth Games.

The top seed Somdev gave the crowd a big reason to cheer after they saw their favorite Sania Mirza lose the women's singles final in a deciding tie-break to Anastasia Rodionova of Australia. This is first time that Tennis has been included in the Games at New Delhi.

Before this Sushil Kumar won the 28th Gold Medal after beating Heinrich Barnes of South Africa in 66kg freestyle wrestling final. Deepika Kumari in Women's Recurve Individual event, Harpreet Singh in Individual 25m centre fire pistol & Rahul Banerjee in Men's Re-curve Individual event also won gold medals for India today.
