Salman Khan : A Good Samaritan

His co- actors call him the most big hearted amongst them all and when it comes to taking up a social cause he almost always leads the pack. It’s none other than Salman Khan that we are talking about.

The actor is now closely associated with helping out people suffering from bone marrow diseases. He is working alongside Marrow Donor Registry (India) (MDIR) as a part of his Being Human campaign. He has in fact helped many people suffering from various diseases through Being Human.

Recently he appealed to one and all to donate blood to people suffering from bone marrow diseases. “ I request all to donate blood to the noble cause of helping those who need bone marrow transplantation. Let’s begin it today.

ou need to spend only 15 minutes to donate blood and get yourself checked at the cost of just Rs 8000. Moreover, the expenses will be borne by MDIR. You just need to take some time off from your daily routine to save the ones who are struggling to live,” he said.

Salman is also planning to approach the film fraternity and enlist their help. “ I will talk to my friends in the film Industry to join me in this noble cause. I am sure they will definitely come forward and help as most of them are good at heart.” On a lighter vein, he added, “ If you are busy in unnecessary quarrels with your girl friends and wives, then stop wasting time and come out to help people who need medical aid to lead a healthy life. Every disease has a cure, so let’s join hands for this noble cause.” For the weak hearted, Salman has a bit of advice. “ Some fear of heights while others are afraid to donate blood.

But let me assure you there is nothing to worry, it’s perfectly safe. Donate your blood you will get biscuits and coffee in return. So it will be like ‘ Ek teer se do do shikar’,” he joked. Then on second thoughts he added, “ Oh! No ‘ shikar’. I do not want to get into the ‘ shikar’ soup anymore.” Before signing out he also asks the media for help. “ Like how the media has always come snooping for gossip and scoops, they should support this cause also. We would appreciate and need the help of the media,” he concluded.
