Maharashtra gear up for Ganesh Chaturthi, huge crowd expected at Lalbaugcha Raja
Maharashtra is known to celebrate the festivals in passion and Ganesh Chaturthi, or some call it as Vinayaka Chaturthi, is no different. This Year Lalbaugcha Raja Sarvajanik Ganeshotsav Mandal has made arrangement to provide some comfort to the devotees as air condition facilities have been set up for the 10-day long Ganesh Mahotsav which would begin from tomorrow (Saturday) onwards.
Mandal has also set up air-conditioned waiting enclosure who throng the mandal to get the darshan of the Lord and wait for hours. If sources are to be believed, devotees would have to wait 8-10 hrs to reach the idol as every year queues stretch up to 7-8 kilometers from the pandal.
Mumbai Police will deploy the personnel between 4,500 and 5,000 at Lalbaugcha Raja (including the mandal’s private security). The police expect at least six lakh devotees to visit the pandal on any day.
Vice President of India Shri M. Hamid Ansari has also passed his greetings to the whole nation on the occasion of Ganesh Chaturthi.
