Federer beats Soderling to march into the semifinals of US Open 2010
Roger Federer has beaten Robin Soderling to get closer to add one more grand slam to his name. Federer won in the straight sets against Soderling (6-4, 6-4, 7-5) to reach the semifinals and settled the old score with him (Sodering).
Sweden’s Robin Soderling could not say same spells of French Open to get past Swiss train and lost in the straight sets. He earlier on June 1, shocked the tennis world with a four-set upset of Federer in the French quarterfinals, ending Federer's record streak of reaching the semifinals in 23 consecutive major events; however could not repeat the history today as Federer proved too hot for him to handle.
Federer will now meet Novak Djokovic in the semifinals on Saturday. Rafael Nadal is yet to play Fernando Verdasco in the quaterfinals. So, shall we get ready to see the epic battle between Nadal & Federer again.
