Earth Quake in Afghanistan, Tremors Felt in Delhi, Noida (NCR)



A Medium intensity earthquake of 6.5 magnitude hit the Hindu Kush region Afghanistan, Pakistan and north India at 12.51 a.m. on Saturday 18th September 2010. Mild Tremors were also felt in some parts of Himachal Pradesh, Chandigarh and Delhi (NCR).

Since, it was a moderate intesity quake there was no damage or casualties reported. "Mild tremors were felt in several parts of north India due to its proximity to Afghanistan," reports meteorological office.

The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD)’s Seismology Department officials said that “The moderate-intensity of earthquake measuring 6.5 on the Richter scale which hits the Hindu Kush region and Jammu Kashmir”.

“Mild tremors were also felt in some parts of NEW Delhi” added Indian Meteorological Department (IMD)’s Seismology Department officials.

    felt at 2 am in morning in ghaziabad
