In Modern Times, Krishna Janmashtami is celebrated with SMS, Messages & Scraps

Here comes again one of the most sacred festivals of India, Krishna Janmashtami which is celebrated today i.e. 1st September, 2010 as well as on 2nd September, 2010, however the official date declared is of tomorrow which would also be a bank holiday across the nation.

As it is the nation of variety and different cultures, Janmashtami is also celebrated in various ways in the different arts of the country. In North India, Homes, shops and work places are decorated to celebrate the birth of Lord Krishan where as this is the Dahi-Handi festival time in Maharashtra.

As the time keep changing, new equation are evolving and these equations are related to everything, these festivals are no different. All the major festivals are now celebrated in a much sophisticated way, compared to what it used to be a decade ago. With the technology advancement, SMSs, Greeting Cards and Scraps have taken the place of Dhol and Folk songs, however due to these changes, festivals have not lost its charm and hopefully it shall stay the same forever.

Celebrations of Janmashtmi would be at their peak at the Lord Krishna birth place, Mathura and The International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON) as these places would depict the true example of traditional and modern celebrations. ISKCON has plans for both the days at its centre and Krishna Lila Theme Park in Bangalore.

Our Team wishes you a very Happy & Shubh Janmashtmi and also luck to over 600 Govinda troops for the Dahi-Handi prize money in Maharashtra.
